Job Description
We are looking for a senior developer / software engineer to support development of open‑source Python and/or R libraries, JavaScript apps, APIs and similar building blocks that simplify modeling and generation of outputs, including dashboards, scientific plotting, and more. The software must work with geospatial data and applications such as time‑series of Earth Observation images, large in‑situ measurements, and gridded and vector data. You will mainly contribute to Horizon Europe projects Open Earth Monitor (OEMC) and Open Geospatial Carbon Registry (OGCR), as well as projects like OpenLandMap.org, EcoDataCube.eu and AI4SoilHealth.eu. You may be invited to give demos and teach others through summer schools, conferences and workshops.
OpenGeoHub provides HPC infrastructure (over 3 PB of data on ~40 servers) and will lead and supervise the candidate jointly with partner organizations. Your responsibilities include ensuring software is professionally implemented, documented, passes automated checks and can be used for production purposes, and supporting projects implemented by external research networks.

- Minimum 5 years of work experience.
- Familiar with Earth Observation data, data cubes and image processing algorithms.
- Proficient in Python, Bash, R, and/or Julia for data science programming.
- Experience designing and implementing libraries and REST APIs.
